BOLDLY GO   Leave a comment

So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need

Heb. 4:16

We don’t have too many monarchs around these days that reside in throne rooms.  Mostly we have Prime Ministers, presidents or political dictators.  However, regardless of what they call themselves, not too many people have direct access to them.  To have an audience, whether it is for social purposes or to make a request, one must contact the proper assistant or officer, have the schedule checked, make an appointment and perhaps wait years to see the individual.  If one is important enough, they may only have to wait months.

Not so with Christians and their King.  The Word of God commands us to “. . . come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need”.1

If you read verses 14-15 of chapter 4 of Hebrews, nowhere does it say that:

  1. You must contact anyone

  2. Check any schedules

  3. Make any appointments

  4. Wait any length of time

That’s because our God is an accessible God, He’s available twenty-four seven!

Besides that, scripture tells us that Jesus understands our frailties since He was subject to them when He walked this earth.  Who more would be willing to help us than someone who has been in our shoes, knows what we are going through and can help us through our trials?  Think about it.  If you’ve ever been in a situation that was trying, and you were able make it through that situation, wouldn’t you be willing to help someone else who’s experiencing it also?

Don’t worry about phoning ahead to make an appointment.  Forget going through any red tape.  You don’t need to contact any assistant.  There are no forms to complete.  All of that was done for you on Calvary.  Just get down on your knees where you are at any moment and lift your praises on high or place your burdens at His feet.  It’s just that simple because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
